Tree's Company

Last month some lucky LAMP students and staff had the pleasure of visiting the Gorcott Hill site at the Heart of England Forest. They learned about the importance of conservation and how harmful invasive plant species can be to our forests. The main activities included removing Rhododendron from the forest floor using hand tools (even more difficult than it sounds, we all used muscles we didn't realise we had), whittling wood and how to safely light a fire in the forest. The most challenging part of the visit was trying not to slip and fall in the mud.

A great time was had by all, and we look forward to visiting the Gorcott Hill site again soon!
