Parent and Carer's Area

Working together with parents and carers is integral to our ethos at LAMP Learning.

What do we do?

Progress reviews

Progress reviews take place every 6 weeks allowing parents and students to discuss their progress and any issues. These reviews provide a fantastic opportunity to meet with parents and students together on a regular basis, creating strong lines of communication between you, as parents and guardians, and us. It offers a chance to review the student’s learning package to ensure it is still appropriate to their needs.

Reports

Subject reports are produced termly. These provide students and parents with up to date information on students' progression and any areas of development

PTA

We’re in the process of setting up a LAMP Learning PTA. If you are interested in helping with this please email; info@leamingtonlamp.co.uk

Showcasing students' work

We love sharing the work of our students. At the end of every term there is a concert for our Level 2 and 3 Music students to showcase their work. This is usually a mix of solo performances as well as groups. Music ranges from pop to rock and also experimental music. Some of these concerts are at LAMP and we also use other venues around town. Some of these performances are assessed as part of the courses.

At the end of year show we also have exhibitions of Art, Photography and Computer Games. Parents and friends are welcome at all of our concerts and shows!

What is the Flexible Learning Team?

The Flexible Learning Team uses a blended learning approach, mixing on-line lessons and face-to-face contact. It employs teachers and learning mentors for a mix of academic and pastoral support, both to help students keep up-to-date with their work whilst they are out of school, and to facilitate reintegration. Research shows that on-line provision is more effective when supported by face-to-face contact. We also do group work at a number of locations around the county.

What is Mental Health?

In many ways, mental health is just like physical health: everybody has it and we need to take care of it.

Good mental health means being generally able to think, feel and react in the ways that you need and want to live your life. But if you go through a period of poor mental health you might find the ways you're frequently thinking, feeling or reacting become difficult, or even impossible, to cope with. This can feel just as bad as a physical illness, or even worse.

Mental health problems affect around one in four people in any given year.
They range from common problems, such
as depression and anxiety, to rarer problems such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.
